You are in the job search stage and your telephone just rang for an interview?
If you really care about the offer, there will be stress and many questions for sure.
Are you wondering “how am I supposed to do well in an interview”?
In this article, I will give you some tips to help you prepare for your appointment and increase your chances of getting a job.
Before you read my tips, however, make sure you are not making the most common mistakes in job interviews.
How to surprise the employer during an interview?
Show the employer that you care about working for his company and do a decent research about his organization.
Below, see where to find information:
employer’s website – where you will find all the news, history and awards for the company. With this information, you will show the employer that you are motivated to work for this particular company.
Goldenline, LinkedIn – most employers have their profiles on these social networking sites. Check how they communicate with the environment. This will show you what style of management you can expect and whether it will meet your expectations.
Google search – on the Internet you will find many opinions about the employer, both positive and negative. The interview will give you a chance to check them at source.
Why should I check the job posting again?
Find the advertisement you applied for. Re-read the description of responsibilities as well as the requirements for the profile of the person you are looking for.
Try to catch the keywords for a given position. Write down 2 to 5 words that you will find in the advertisement. Then write down your qualities and skills that will prove that you meet the employer’s criteria.
This way you show the recruiter that you are the perfect candidate for the position you are applying for.
Want to do even better?
During the interview, ask questions about your responsibilities, especially if you are unsure. The employer will get the impression that you really care about this particular offer.
How do I prepare a list of achievements before the interview?
How can you maintain interest in yourself during the interview? How do I not repeat information that is already in my CV?
There is great advice for this.
If you haven’t included your achievements on your CV, make a list of this before the interview.
What can you introduce in it?
key / custom projects you have participated in
results of implemented sales plans (you will gain the most effectiveness if you provide percentages)
increasing your own or your employees’ efficiency
Each of these pieces of information will bring additional benefit to the meeting and will create a “wow effect” on your interlocutor.
It is the numbers that capture the employer’s imagination and show what you are able to contribute to the organization.
What can I do to reduce stress before the interview?
Do you remember the stress associated with high school diploma? It was a great experience for everyone. You must have had your shirt pressed the day before, a suit prepared and a whole set of writing tools. Treat the interview the same.
Prepare yourself the day before:
your clothes adapted to the level of the position – an un-ironed shirt or a too short skirt is not a good choice, remember about it.
a set of notes important to you – a pen and notebook is enough to write down everything that is most important. This way you will not miss the key data.
directions to the company’s headquarters, taking into account communication problems – the worst thing is to be late, but arriving an hour ahead of time will not have a good effect on picking up your person.
